About

Hi, I’m Erick, a cybersecurity engineer in the making with a passion for digital defense, deep analysis and doing things the right way. I’ve completed over 700 hours of hands-on training through UC Irvine’s Cybersecurity Bootcamp where I built Splunk dashboards from scratch, crafted custom Snort rules and dissected network traffic using Wireshark and PCAPs. Whether I’m analyzing malware behavior or hardening systems against intrusion, I approach every challenge with curiosity and discipline.

Outside of cybersecurity I’ve been playing guitar since childhood. It’s been my creative outlet for years and helps me stay focused and grounded. When I’m not working on digital threats or learning new riffs, you’ll likely find me in the gym. Training has taught me the same lessons I bring to cybersecurity: discipline, consistency and a deep respect for process. The mind-muscle connection I’ve developed through fitness mirrors how I approach problems—with intent, focus and a drive to improve every day.

My goal is to launch my career as a SOC analyst or blue team engineer and to bring not just technical skills but heart and grit to every team I join. I’m constantly learning, building and preparing myself to make a meaningful impact in the industry.
